 4 Elms Retirement Residence, Thornhill, Ontario, July 2017

Designed and facilitated by Ruth, this collaborative  work was created by the artists of 4 Elms Retirement Residence in Thornhill, Ontario. It commemorates Canada's 150th birthday in 2017. The arms reaching into the red, centre leaf bear the colours of the various national flags represented by the residents of 

 4 Elms.

Immigrant Services

Welcome Centre,

Richmond Hill, Dec. 2016

 Designed by Linda Ruscio, this collaborative mural by the Markham Group of Artists was created for the Immigrant Services Welcome Centre in Richmond Hil, Ontario.

 Ruth painted 2 of the 32 panels     which depict various aspects of  what it means to be Canadian.

This is one of two panels Ruth painted for the "Canada 150 Mosaic". (It is the centre panel in the mural to the left.) Each artist created a painting within the overall painting - all with a Canadian theme. Up close, the parka reminds you of our cold winters; step back and you merely see the northern lake waters.

Ceiling Tile Project:
"Lake Joseph Sunset"

Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto,
December 2017

The Joy of Life Ceiling Tile Project was established to encourage patients lying in hospital beds. This ceiling tile can be found in Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Ontario. It was created for Duke and Wend - Christmas 2017.  The tile was Sponsored by Hannah & Cameron Lang. Artist, Ruth Toy, donated the work and art supplies.
